# TextRift vs Hop

The clearest difference is iOS requirement: TextRift at 18.0 against Hop's 26.0. On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TextRift sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Hop sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TextRift ships an update every 4 weeks, Hop every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
