# Reed vs BooksWhale

The clearest difference is ads: BooksWhale at none against Reed's shown. BooksWhale also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Reed sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and BooksWhale sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
