# MeDrop vs Quick Share File Transfer

The clearest difference is ads: MeDrop at none against Quick Share File Transfer's shown. MeDrop also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months). Quick Share File Transfer's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MeDrop sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Quick Share File Transfer sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for MeDrop against 5.0 for Quick Share File Transfer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Quick Share File Transfer has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

MeDrop ships an update every 9 days, Quick Share File Transfer every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
