# HVN vs Journal

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Journal at none against HVN's 1. HVN's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and device support (3 vs 1). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HVN sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Journal asks for nothing beyond the download.

HVN ships an update every 3 weeks, Journal every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
