Snap a photo of any ingredient label and see what every ingredient does, in plain language. FormuLens decodes INCI lists for skincare, makeup, hair care, body care, and fragrance, then helps you compare products and check how your routine works together. SCAN ANY INGREDIENT LABEL Take a photo or import one from your library. Long labels can span several photos, and FormuLens combines them into one list. Labels shot at any angle, even sideways or upside down, are turned upright automatically. READ K-BEAUTY AND J-BEAUTY LABELS FormuLens reads ingredient labels printed in English, French, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). Each ingredient is translated to its English INCI name, with the printed name kept alongside. Results are always shown in English. UNDERSTAND EACH INGREDIENT See the role each ingredient plays in the formula: humectant, emollient, surfactant, preservative, exfoliant, antioxidant, sun protection, fragrance, and more. Key ingredients for the product type are starred, and unusual ones are flagged for a closer look. Tap any ingredient for a plain-language explanation and optional reference links. Sunscreen and SPF labels keep their Active and Inactive sections. KNOW THE FORMULA AT A GLANCE Each product gets a simple profile of hydration, active strength, gentleness, and complexity, plus quick tags such as Fragrance-Free, Contains Fragrance, Contains Exfoliants, Alcohol-Heavy, Avoid in Pregnancy, and Mineral, Chemical, or Hybrid Sunscreen. COMPARE PRODUCTS SIDE BY SIDE Wondering if a cheaper product is a close match for a pricey one? Compare up to 6 products of the same type to see shared ingredients, an overall similarity score, formula differences, and a plain-language verdict. CHECK YOUR ROUTINE Add up to 8 steps, from cleanser to sunscreen, and get a suggested layering order, alerts for ingredient pairs that may not mix well (like retinol with AHAs or vitamin C with benzoyl peroxide), overlap between steps, a build-up of EU-regulated fragrance allergens, and what your routine may be missing. SCAN A MIXED COLLECTION Sorting through a shelf or a new haul? Scan up to 6 products of any type at once and get a clear breakdown for each one. LOOK UP ANY INGREDIENT Search 1,000+ ingredients by INCI, French, Korean, Japanese, or Chinese name, or shorthands like AHA and BHA. Each profile covers what it does, where it matters most, pregnancy notes, known layering interactions, and links to learn more. SAVE YOUR PRODUCTS Keep analyzed products with a photo, custom name, tags, and notes. Search by name, tag, or ingredient, and filter by tag any time. PRIVATE BY DESIGN All analysis happens on your device. Your photos and scans never leave it. No account, no sign-up, no tracking. Works on iPhone and iPad, in light or dark mode. FormuLens is for general information only and is not medical advice. If you have a skin condition, allergy, or are pregnant or nursing, check with a doctor or pharmacist.
