# EPUB Reader vs OnlyText

The clearest difference is update cadence: OnlyText at every 2 days against EPUB Reader's every 5 days. OnlyText also leads on iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EPUB Reader sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and OnlyText sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

EPUB Reader ships an update every 5 days, OnlyText every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
