# Index vs Noto

The clearest difference is update cadence: Noto at every 2 days against Index's monthly. Index's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Index sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month and Noto sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Index ships an update monthly, Noto every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
