# AnyRead vs 書房

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: 書房 at none against AnyRead's 1. 書房 also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 8 days). AnyRead's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AnyRead sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. 書房 asks for nothing beyond the download.

AnyRead ships an update every 8 days, 書房 every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
