# Nook vs Igneous

The clearest difference is rating: Igneous at 5.0 against Nook's 4.0. Igneous also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 weeks) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Nook sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Igneous sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Igneous holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 3 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Nook ships an update every 2 weeks, Igneous every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
