# Chroma vs SoulNotes

The clearest difference is update cadence: SoulNotes at every 2 days against Chroma's every 10 days. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chroma sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and SoulNotes sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chroma ships an update every 10 days, SoulNotes every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
