# Beacon vs PinPoint

The clearest difference is update cadence: Beacon at every 2 days against PinPoint's fortnightly. PinPoint's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Beacon sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and PinPoint sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Beacon ships an update every 2 days, PinPoint fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
