# Scooby vs TamaShell

The clearest difference is ads: TamaShell at none against Scooby's shown. Scooby's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly) and device support (3 vs 1). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scooby sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and TamaShell sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scooby ships an update every 9 days, TamaShell monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
