# Steps Journey vs Stride

The clearest difference is update cadence: Stride at every 4 days against Steps Journey's every 2 weeks. Stride also leads on iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Steps Journey sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Stride sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Steps Journey ships an update every 2 weeks, Stride every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
