# Handwrite vs Text to Handwriting

The clearest difference is update cadence: Text to Handwriting at every 2 weeks against Handwrite's every 6 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Handwrite sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Text to Handwriting sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Handwrite ships an update every 6 weeks, Text to Handwriting every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
