Praxima is a guide to art exhibitions in New York and Hong Kong, made for people who see a lot of art, and for people who would if someone pointed the way. DISCOVER What’s on view now, from museum retrospectives to gallery debuts, with the shows people are talking about up top. Browse by medium, category or art style, catch tonight’s opening nights, and find upcoming art fairs, performances and auctions. Every show is on the map, so you can plan around where you already are. CHECK IN AND RATE Check in when you visit, rate the show, and add a note or a photo. Keep a note to yourself or share it. COMMUNITY Follow friends and see what they’re checking in to and saving. Your taste profile shows the moods, mediums and subjects you gravitate to, and how closely your taste matches a friend’s. MY LISTS Save shows for later and build gallery walks: pick what you want to see and Praxima arranges it into a route you can follow on foot.

PVBLIC Events is your pass wallet for invite-only events hosted by the PVBLIC Foundation. Open the invite you were sent and your pass appears on this iPhone — no account, no password. At the door, hold up a rotating, device-bound QR code. While it is on screen the app raises brightness and keeps the display awake so scanners can read it. After you have opened a pass once, the code still rotates in airplane mode. What you can do: • See events happening now and what is coming next • RSVP, view the agenda, and get directions in Maps • Message event staff, and share your location if you need to be found on a large site • Get notifications for starting-soon and event updates

Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: PVBLIC Events at every 2 days against Praxima's weekly. PVBLIC Events also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). Praxima's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Praxima against 5.0 for PVBLIC Events. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Praxima has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Praxima ships an update weekly, PVBLIC Events every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
