# Pixel Break vs Alpha

Pixel Break and Alpha both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Alpha's written reviews are positive against 27% of Pixel Break's. Alpha also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Pixel Break's advantage is ratings volume (1.1K vs 3) and update cadence (weekly vs every 4 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pixel Break sells 17 one-off in-app purchases and Alpha sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Pixel Break against 4.7 for Alpha. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pixel Break has 1.1K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 27% of Pixel Break's written reviews are positive against 100% of Alpha's.

Pixel Break ships an update weekly, Alpha every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
