# SMEC vs Allgas

The clearest difference is rating: SMEC at 3.8 against Allgas's 1.0. SMEC also leads on ratings volume (11 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SMEC holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SMEC has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SMEC ships an update every 8 months, Allgas every 14 months. Both last shipped on October 6, 2026.
