# HanKey vs Catchtype

The clearest difference is rating: HanKey at 5.0 against Catchtype's 4.3. Catchtype's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5) and update cadence (daily vs every 3 days). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HanKey sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Catchtype asks for nothing beyond the download.

HanKey holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of HanKey's written reviews are positive against 94% of Catchtype's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HanKey ships an update every 3 days, Catchtype daily. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
