# Subway Paint vs Re

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Re at none against Subway Paint's 1. Re also leads on ratings volume (34K vs 52) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). Subway Paint's advantage is review sentiment (77% vs 50%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Subway Paint sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Re asks for nothing beyond the download.

Re holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Re has 34K ratings behind it against 52, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of Subway Paint's written reviews are positive against 50% of Re's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Subway Paint ships an update every 3 months, Re every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
