# BackBeat vs Loopd

The clearest difference is update cadence: Loopd at every 3 weeks against BackBeat's every 2 months. Loopd also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BackBeat ships an update every 2 months, Loopd every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
