# Fluent Chapters vs Chinese

The clearest difference is ads: Chinese at none against Fluent Chapters's shown. On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fluent Chapters sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Chinese sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Fluent Chapters ships an update every 9 days, Chinese every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
