# Flipnotes vs Laytr

The clearest difference is update cadence: Laytr at every 2 days against Flipnotes's every 2 weeks. Laytr also leads on ratings volume (7 vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). Flipnotes's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and review sentiment (100% vs 80%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flipnotes sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Laytr sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flipnotes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Laytr has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Flipnotes's written reviews are positive against 80% of Laytr's.

Flipnotes ships an update every 2 weeks, Laytr every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
