Sproutnicks
Read full descriptionHide full description
Sproutnicks is a small library of short science episodes for young learners. Each one starts with a question a child would actually ask, and four presenters (Kenji, Leo, Mia and Chloe) work it out with one experiment. Every topic is a path of six parts: Intro. One of the four asks the question. Watch. A one-minute episode answering it. Quiz. Five picture questions with spoken prompts. A wrong answer is tried again, never marked. Give me Three. Three facts, one at a time, read aloud. Certificate. Earned when the path is walked, and a parent can save or share it. Activities. A colouring page and a nine-piece jigsaw drawn from the episode. Sixteen topics across five areas, and more arriving: Earth & Sky - Seasons, Wind, Water Cycle Forces & Motion - Gravity, Balance, Bounce Living Things - Capillary Action, Animal Ears, Heartbeat Matter - Density, Water's Skin, and Ice, Water, Steam Energy & Waves - Hidden Rainbow, Shadows, Magnets, Static Electricity Made for families: No ads, ever. Nothing is sold to your child inside an episode. No microphone or camera. No chat, no links out. Settings and purchases sit behind a grown-up gate. A child profile is a character and a colour. We never ask a child's name, age or birthday. A weekly progress report in the Parent Corner shows what they watched and what they worked out. Works as a guest, with nothing that identifies your child stored off the device. An optional parent account keeps progress across devices. Seasons is free. A subscription opens every other topic, plus each new one as it arrives, for $4.99 a month or $44.99 a year. Cancel any time from your App Store account.
