# OpenVox Reader vs Lector

The clearest difference is update cadence: Lector at every 2 days against OpenVox Reader's weekly. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OpenVox Reader sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Lector sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

OpenVox Reader ships an update weekly, Lector every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
