# Kinemetron vs Light Meter EV

The clearest difference is update cadence: Light Meter EV at every 3 weeks against Kinemetron's every 2 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Kinemetron sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Light Meter EV sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Kinemetron ships an update every 2 months, Light Meter EV every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
