# DroPilot Pentatonics vs ChordSmith

The clearest difference is update cadence: DroPilot Pentatonics at every 4 days against ChordSmith's fortnightly. DroPilot Pentatonics also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DroPilot Pentatonics sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and ChordSmith sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DroPilot Pentatonics ships an update every 4 days, ChordSmith fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
