# DroPilot Pentatonics vs Guitar Codex

The clearest difference is update cadence: Guitar Codex at every 2 days against DroPilot Pentatonics's every 4 days. DroPilot Pentatonics's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DroPilot Pentatonics sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Guitar Codex sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DroPilot Pentatonics ships an update every 4 days, Guitar Codex every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
