# HOOKCAM vs Pre Record Camera

The clearest difference is rating: Pre Record Camera at 5.0 against HOOKCAM's 4.0. Pre Record Camera also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). HOOKCAM's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HOOKCAM sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Pre Record Camera sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HOOKCAM ships an update weekly, Pre Record Camera every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 8, 2026 respectively.
