# iCodex vs Jev

The clearest difference is monetization model: iCodex at freemium against Jev's subscription. On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iCodex sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Jev sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for iCodex against 5.0 for Jev. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 1 respectively.

iCodex ships an update every 3 weeks, Jev every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
