# GymTimer vs TruTimer

The clearest difference is update cadence: GymTimer at every 4 days against TruTimer's every 4 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GymTimer sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and TruTimer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GymTimer ships an update every 4 days, TruTimer every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
