# FencePost vs CICO

The clearest difference is update cadence: CICO at every 3 days against FencePost's every 3 weeks. CICO also leads on ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FencePost sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and CICO sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for FencePost against 5.0 for CICO. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CICO has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

FencePost ships an update every 3 weeks, CICO every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
