# HamThings PTT vs HAM ACTIVATOR

The clearest difference is update cadence: HamThings PTT at every 4 days against HAM ACTIVATOR's every 2 weeks. HamThings PTT also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HamThings PTT sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $8.99 per year and HAM ACTIVATOR sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HamThings PTT ships an update every 4 days, HAM ACTIVATOR every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
