# CarKit vs Modi

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Modi at 50% against CarKit's 29%. Modi also leads on rating (4.4 vs 4.2) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). CarKit's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CarKit sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Modi sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Modi holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 55 and 23 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 29% of CarKit's written reviews are positive against 50% of Modi's.

CarKit ships an update every 4 days, Modi fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
