About

Noise Meter

Features

Noise Meter is a sound level tool for everyday noise checks. Open the app to estimate A-weighted decibels around you, and follow live, maximum, minimum, and average levels plus a trend so you can tell whether home, work, travel, or a job site is getting too loud. LIVE NOISE MEASUREMENT Tap start to measure. While you measure, you can see the current level, maximum, minimum, and average (LAeq), with a waveform that follows the sound. Common scenes such as a whisper, an office, a road, or a subway help put the number in context. You can also save a location so each record matches the place you were standing. DECIBEL CAMERA WITH ACOUSTIC WATERMARKS When you need a picture of the scene, use Decibel Camera to take photos or record video. The image can overlay live decibels and summary stats, which is useful for neighbor noise, construction, or before-and-after insulation checks. After capture, you can review average, maximum, and minimum levels. RECORDS, TRENDS, AND MAP Each valid session becomes a record with duration, place, max/min/average, and a dB trend. Play recordings with an amplitude waveform. Browse a list or switch to the map to compare readings across locations. Rename records such as “bedroom at night,” “living room renovation,” or “desk at work.” CALIBRATION AND LEVEL GUIDE Phone microphones differ. Calibration in Settings brings readings closer to a reference you trust. A built-in guide ranges from a library to traffic and thunder, grouped into comfortable, noisy, and protection-needed ranges. NOISE STANDARDS FOR REFERENCE Look up publicly available noise-related limits for China, Japan, Korea, the United States, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, plus Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Brazil, and Mexico. In-app values are for reference only and never claim that a reading is unlawful. A phone measurement is not a substitute for a report from a qualified lab. FREE FEATURES AND PRO Measuring, history, maps, shooting with the Decibel Camera, and calibration stay free. Noise Meter Pro unlocks PDF reports with device model, verification code and report-check mark, high-quality WAV export, and saving watermarked photos and videos to Photos. Pro options (prices shown in the app at purchase; they may vary by country or region): • Monthly subscription: auto-renewable • Yearly subscription: auto-renewable • One-time purchase: no renewal Subscription details: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. After purchase, manage or cancel in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Use Restore Purchases in the app to restore previous purchases. The one-time option is a non-consumable purchase and does not auto-renew. WHO IT IS FOR - Residents who want a first noise check and a dated record of renovation, elevator, or business noise - Anyone comparing how quiet a bedroom, study, or office is at different times - People documenting simple before-and-after insulation work with photos - Listeners who want to watch how a speaker or machine level changes over time PERMISSIONS Microphone, camera, and location are requested only when needed and can be turned off in iOS Settings. IMPORTANT This app estimates A-weighted sound pressure level with the iPhone microphone. Results depend on device model, placement, distance, and surroundings. Use them for everyday reference only—not for legal metrology, enforcement, or expert evidence. For an official report, hire a qualified organization and a certified sound level meter under the applicable standard.
