# Fern vs Sprachprep

The clearest difference is update cadence: Sprachprep at every 2 days against Fern's every 5 days. Fern's advantage is iOS requirement (15.5 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fern sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Sprachprep sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Fern ships an update every 5 days, Sprachprep every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
