# Gridpaper vs OpenRead

The clearest difference is update cadence: OpenRead at every 2 days against Gridpaper's fortnightly. OpenRead also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Gridpaper ships an update fortnightly, OpenRead every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
