# Pre vs Algebra Handbook

The clearest difference is update cadence: Algebra Handbook at every 2 weeks against Pre's monthly. Algebra Handbook also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pre sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $14.99 per year and Algebra Handbook sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pre ships an update monthly, Algebra Handbook every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
