# Awesomap vs MapLayers

MapLayers's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 63 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MapLayers sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $24.99 per year. Awesomap asks for nothing beyond the download.

MapLayers holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Awesomap has 375 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
