# been vs Photo Map

The clearest difference is update cadence: been at every 10 days against Photo Map's every 6 months. been also leads on chart position (#53 vs unranked) and ratings volume (10K vs 1.9K). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. been sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Photo Map sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for been against 4.7 for Photo Map. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: been has 10K ratings behind it against 1.9K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 59% and 60% positive.

been ships an update every 10 days, Photo Map every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
