# KotoVelluna vs BambooBuds

The clearest difference is update cadence: BambooBuds at every 2 days against KotoVelluna's every 3 weeks. KotoVelluna's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. KotoVelluna sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and BambooBuds sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

KotoVelluna ships an update every 3 weeks, BambooBuds every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
