# Ballast vs Winter Arc

The clearest difference is update cadence: Winter Arc at weekly against Ballast's fortnightly. Winter Arc also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ballast sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Winter Arc sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ballast ships an update fortnightly, Winter Arc weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
