# Off Book vs Modo

The clearest difference is rating: Modo at 5.0 against Off Book's 1.0. Modo also leads on ratings volume (5 vs 1). Off Book's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Off Book sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Modo sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Modo holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Modo has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
