# Guitar Picking vs Guitar Notation

The clearest difference is rating: Guitar Notation at 4.0 against Guitar Picking's 1.0. Guitar Notation also leads on ratings volume (249 vs 1) and update cadence (every 4 months vs every 12 months). Guitar Picking's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 6) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Guitar Notation sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Guitar Picking asks for nothing beyond the download.

Guitar Notation holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Guitar Notation has 249 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
