# WeatherExt vs Strike Weather

The clearest difference is monetization model: Strike Weather at free against WeatherExt's free with in-app purchases. Strike Weather also leads on ratings volume (27 vs 2). WeatherExt's advantage is iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WeatherExt sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Strike Weather sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for WeatherExt against 5.0 for Strike Weather. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Strike Weather has 27 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

WeatherExt ships an update daily, Strike Weather every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
