# Shift Calendar vs Countdown

The clearest difference is update cadence: Shift Calendar at weekly against Countdown's monthly. Shift Calendar also leads on iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shift Calendar sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Countdown sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shift Calendar ships an update weekly, Countdown monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
