# dot vs diary.exe

The clearest difference is ads: diary.exe at none against dot's shown. dot's advantage is update cadence (daily vs every 2 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. dot sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month and diary.exe sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

dot ships an update daily, diary.exe every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
