# Shanghai Grill vs Dippys

The clearest difference is update cadence: Dippys at every 4 weeks against Shanghai Grill's every 3 months. Shanghai Grill's advantage is ratings volume (33 vs 3) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Shanghai Grill against 5.0 for Dippys. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shanghai Grill has 33 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Shanghai Grill ships an update every 3 months, Dippys every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
