# Effectrix vs WidgeTunes

The clearest difference is update cadence: WidgeTunes at every 2 weeks against Effectrix's every 4 months. WidgeTunes also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs paid). Effectrix's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Effectrix sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and WidgeTunes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Effectrix holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 98 and 68 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of Effectrix's written reviews are positive against 62% of WidgeTunes's.

Effectrix ships an update every 4 months, WidgeTunes every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
