# Custom Alerts vs Beyond Identity

The clearest difference is price: Beyond Identity at Free against Custom Alerts's $0.99. Beyond Identity also leads on rating (4.2 vs 3.8) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 13 months). Custom Alerts's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 20%). On ads, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Beyond Identity is free to download; Custom Alerts costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Beyond Identity holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Beyond Identity has 39 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Custom Alerts's written reviews are positive against 20% of Beyond Identity's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Custom Alerts ships an update every 13 months, Beyond Identity every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
