# Pitea vs Chiptune Sequencer

The clearest difference is price: Chiptune Sequencer at Free against Pitea's $29.00. Chiptune Sequencer also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 7 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 92%). Pitea's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (6 vs 1). On ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Chiptune Sequencer is free to download; Pitea costs $29.00 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Pitea holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pitea has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Pitea's written reviews are positive against 100% of Chiptune Sequencer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pitea ships an update every 7 months, Chiptune Sequencer weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
